Bellevue, WA: BPCA Advises the Owners of JLA Supply, Inc. on a Sale to White Cap
Berntson Porter Corporate Advisory, LLC (“BPCA”), an M&A advisor serving middle market clients in the Pacific Northwest, today announced it acted as the exclusive financial advisor to the owners of JLA Supply (“JLA”) in a sale to White Cap, a portfolio company of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (“CD&R”).
Founded in 1974 in Portland, OR, JLA Supply is a leading distributor of sealants, waterproofing and concrete accessories, serving non-residential and residential end markets throughout the Pacific Northwest and West Coast. JLA has grown to six locations across Oregon, Washington and Idaho, and is known in different markets under three business brands: Sealant Specialists, SECO Construction Supply or Cascade Construction Accessories. Formerly known as John Latta Associates, Inc., JLA was a 100% employee-owned ESOP prior to the transaction with White Cap.
Headquartered in Atlanta, GA, White Cap and its affiliates serve as a one-stop shop providing concrete accessories and chemicals, tools and equipment, building materials and fasteners, erosion and waterproofing products, and safety products to professional contractors in the non-residential, infrastructure and residential end markets. White Cap operates approximately 500 branches across North America with more than 10,500 employees supporting approximately 200,000 customers.
CD&R s a leading private investment firm with offices in New York and London. The firm invests in businesses that span a broad range of industries, including industrial, healthcare, consumer, technology and financial services end markets.
This is the fourth completed building products transaction that BPCA has advised on since the firm’s formation in 2017. Other completed M&A transactions include companies in the manufacturing, industrial services, professional services, consumer products, construction, technology, and distribution sectors.
